Hello! My name's Suzanne and I'm the creator and owner of Flutterlily.
In the summer of 2008, I moved to the charming spa town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. It wasn't long before I realised what a truly wonderful place it is to live, work and raise a family. I have met some amazing people and seen first-hand the inspirational growth and diversity of many of the area's independent retail outlets.
The Flutterlily Story
The whole Flutterlily concept has been created out of an accumulation of opportunities, experiences, ambition and desire. Flutterlily operates from a welcoming and friendly boutique close to the centre of Harrogate.
I stock a beautiful handpicked selection of maternity wear, children's wear, gifts and accessories. I have brand new and pre-loved items from designers and high street brands. In keeping with the ethos of the brand I also felt it was important to have an area in the boutique for hand crafted products.
This is where small independent sellers can display their finely crafted bespoke products, most of which are only available at Flutterlily.
My aim is to provide my customers with the opportunity to buy beautiful products within a friendly, welcoming environment. There's a small area in the shop for your little ones to colour in some pictures and play with toys whilst you shop - we all know that sometimes children and shopping don't always go together so I hope that it makes things easier for you.
Big Changes From 31st March 2018!
Over the past few months I have been searching for a solution on how I can continue with Flutterlily, but in a way that would allow me to juggle a busy family life and the demands of the business.
I have been spending more time focusing on the online side of the business, which has resulted in a substantial increase in online orders. Therefore, it makes sense both from a business point of view and personal, for me to close the store in Harrogate but continue to increase my online presence. Consumer shopping habits are changing, and I need to change my business to work with this.
This will mean that the format for selling with Flutterlily will change. Instead of acting as an agency, I will be offering a cash payment to buy your items outright, and will collect your stock for free if local. I will also offer a free local delivery service for online orders, and will continue to offer worldwide postal services.
The Harrogate store will close on Saturday 31st March. Please do not panic to collect unsold stock as you will be able to do this for a while after the store has closed. All sellers will be contacted in due course with the possibility of me buying some of your remaining items.
I have made so many friends whilst working in the shop, and have loved every minute of it. I’m sure I will shed a few tears on the final day, and hope that all of my lovely customers will pop by over the next few weeks!
This isn’t the end of Flutterlily, it’s just the beginning of a fab new concept 💕
